Is Owning a Home Right for You?

Owning a home is not for everyone. Some people do not want the responsibility nor change their spending habits in order to make monthly payments on a home. By the end of the second session, you will have a good idea about whether or not you will want to own a home. Start by thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of home ownership.

The home buying process can seem complicated, but if you can take things step-by-step, you will soon be holding the keys to your own home. This course teaches the basic financial literacy skills of budgeting, saving, and credit and debt management.

Homebuyer

This course is geared to educate individuals on understanding their credit, obtaining a mortgage, shopping for a home, closing procedure and maintaining their home and finances after purchase. By attending this course, individuals can achieve their dream of understanding the process of being financially ready to assume home ownership responsibilities.

Financial Stability

This educational course is designed to foster financial stability for individuals and families. The course will take you through the basics of banking, savings, and consumer rights and give real world examples of ways you can become more financially stable. By attending this course, individuals can build financial knowledge, develop financial confidence, and use banking services effectively.

Participants must attend all
4 classes in order to receive
a certificate of completion.

*By attending the two homebuyer class sessions, participants will meet the requirement for certification for possible down payment assistance for first time homebuyers.
Participants are encouraged to attend all six sessions in order to develop sound financial practices.
