Dow United Way Masters Golf Tournament Raises $36,000

The 3rd Annual Dow United Way Masters Golf Tournament once again earned its reputation as one of the premiere golf tournaments in Brazoria County. Thanks to the generosity of the tournament players and sponsors, the tournament raised more than $36,000 for United Way of Brazoria County.

They took home the tournament’s prized red jackets. Second place went to Doug Calame, George Rau and Al Baird. The third place team was Mike Beckman, Tim Tobin, Kevin Welch, and David Redick. 

Dow Texas Operations has been the title sponsor of the tournament since 2006 and Trish Ritthaler, Community Relations Manager, renewed the commitment through to 2011. “We see what tremendous need exists in our communities for the funding and services provided by United Way and this tournament gives us a chance to help them raise money, plus it gives our employees, suppliers and other community members a chance to get out on the course, network and have a great time,” said Ritthaler. “It increases awareness and keeps the United Way in people’s thoughts all year long.” 

Stephanie Cone, United Way of Brazoria County’s Executive Director, said the tournament was so popular this year that there were several teams on a waiting list. “In just three years, this has become known as one of the best tournaments in Brazoria County and we just want to thank everyone who makes it a success. Dow has been a great partner and supporter, and we’re excited that they are going to continue to be the name sponsor for another three years.”
