Campaign 2007 UpdateContributions generated during the 2007 United Way of Brazoria County campaign currently total over $2 million. Stephanie Cone, executive director, said the campaign is on target to exceed the $2.7 million raised during the 2006 campaign. “Numerous workplaces are still conducting campaigns or have scheduled campaigns for early 2008, so we are hopeful for a very positive outcome after all results have been received,” stated Cone. United Way Vice President of Resource Development and 2007 Campaign Chair Bel Sanchez said, “United Way is helping both individuals in need and creating lasting change by getting to the heart of community wide problems. Thousands of individuals have put their trust in us to affect positive change.” United Way of Brazoria County is a major funding source for health and human service programs throughout Brazoria County. In addition to funding 23 partner agencies, United Way provides Community Service programs through its Helpline, Information and Referral service to help direct clients to available avenues of assistance. United Way community partnerships also include Neighbor Day, the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, the Financial Stability Partnership, Disaster Planning and Response, the Women in Leadership Society, and the Brazoria County Homebuyer Coalition.
