WORK STATS:

Houses Rebuilt: 11
Houses Being Rebuilt: 7

HOW: BC-LTRC receives qualified individual and family cases from case management agencies, develops individual recovery plans for these clients, repairs their homes, and provides limited resources for their unmet needs.
STRUCTURE:

BC-LTRC work is accomplished through the volunteer efforts of an Executive Board and seven sub-committees:

Case Management: Each client is assigned a caseworker who remains with them throughout the process. Together, they develop individual recovery plans and ensure the client's access to available resources.

Construction: Home repair efforts include clean-outs, assessments and estimates, management of donated materials, project prioritization, assignment of work crews, and construction management. Clients are expected to use their personal resources, FEMA assistance and any insurance payments to aid in their rebuilding efforts.

Unmet Needs: Funds and goods are distributed to qualified clients to help them replace items necessary for recovery and unavailable from any other resource. Case managers present requests to the Unmet Needs Committee on a weekly basis.

Volunteer Management: Volunteers with all levels of home reconstruction skills are recruited to assist with construction projects. Volunteers currently represent several states.

Resources: Monetary and in-kind donations are gathered to support and fund recovery efforts.

Communications: Information about recovery efforts is distributed through local news, churches, flyers, and pamphlets.

Organizing & Advocacy: The Committee has the support of community leaders, county officials and others who work together to make recovery a reality.
